Finally after much to-ing and fro-ing, the cold weather has finally hit. (!) To celebrate, I went to the shops and bought the fluffiest dressing gowns I could find. And by shops I mean Best and Less because I’m still heroically adhering to that budgety-thing I was assigned.
One week in, we all have sniffly noses. We all are cursing how freezing our house is, how ill-equipped for winter these damn Queenslanders are with their cracked wooden floorboards and their lack of insulation. We are all remembering that we don’t really own any actual winter clothes. And we are all remembering that winter, without any romantic access to crackling fireplaces and soft classical music, is not all it’s cracked up to be.
So, a Winter Rendition was called to cozy up this place, to make the most of these winter days, and to invite all sorts of winter escapades to be had.
Behold, Winter-fying our rooms, closets and boxing up too-small out of season clothes (sniff).
Behold, socked feet.
Behold, let’s stay home it’s too cold out D-I-Y projects: sewing some pillow cases and adding some shine to our very sad-looking outdoor table. Mummy! PAINTS!
Behold, rugged up babies, cute as pie.
Behold, quilts, quilts and more quilts. Possibly my most favourite part of winter.
Behold, staying in.
And this boy of mine. He’s the smiliest thing I’ve ever seen. I’m so madly in love that it’s all a bit ridiculous.
Mid-week high-five, friends. Now go out and get yourselves a fluffy dressing gown.
See you back here soon.
