We’re switching things up around here. Billy has finally been sleeping longer stretches at night and he’s been upgraded to his very own room.
It was a classic domino effect: What began as a quick clean out of his room (turned Junk Room while he was in with us) soon led to other projects like drawers being emptied, wardrobes being purged and furniture getting rearranged.
Changing up spaces always has an inspiring effect on me. I make my surroundings fresh and I feel lighter — the new spaces inviting new experiences to be had inside of them.
And so it feels like a new era is happening around here — the colder weather creeping in and the cosy new couch nook we bunker down in, my boy growing up that teeny bit more, and our dining table at the centre of our living space, inviting us to linger longer over meals and to share activities around it.
Like putting together Jamie Oliver’s mini green house bought on sale at Woolworths by a certain man who is a sucker for those kind of things.
It proudly sits by our kitchen window, one little girl waiting excitedly for her herb seeds to grow.
And in a totally unrelated change of topic, may I present you the Neck Raspberries Series. Honestly, if you could hear him laughing. It’s the most wonderful sound on earth, probably.
Here’s to fresh spaces.
And Friday’s Photo Dump – my small Instagram happies (theredtent on IG if you want to follow the feed).
Happy weekending, friends.
