Small Happies: Easter edition
Another Easter has rolled around quicker than ever.
“But mummy, how does the Easter bunny LAY the eggs?”
We great this season, like always, with tradition and effort, giving attention to the small details knowing the pay off rests in the feelings we know they provide: family, belonging, togetherness, fun, happiness and perhaps my most favourite of all things — childhood.
Besides, who wouldn’t be happy with sunshine yellow tulips resting on their shelf, signalling a chipper ‘Hi! It’s Easter!’?
No one, that’s who.
I’m a sucker for commercial holidays and I have the photos to prove it.
And so, just like that, a little folder on my computer has be made, titled ‘Easter 2016’, and in it, tucked safely are little stories of us.
A Small Happies post today, Easter style.
Easter Egg Dying.
Every year on my Instagram feed I see fabulous mums who dye their eggs with turmeric and beets and all these natural things and I think, “I should try that.” And then, every year I don’t. We’ve got the artificial, easy eggs, you guys. Next year.
Little bunnies.
Yellow tulips.
THE happiness flower.
Easter gifts from loving grandparents.
Easter parcels for Ella’s kindy teachers.
They work so hard that I swear there is a special place in heaven reserved for teachers. I spent half a day volunteering at Ella’s kindy a couple of weeks back and it took me two days to recover. All hail the teachers.
My girl’s Easter show and bonnet parade at kindy.
Another mum to me: I got a little teary watching them.
Me: Me too. We’re pathetic.
Mum: Losers.
*laugh*
*wipe tears*
And finally, tonight we celebrated at our local Easter fair, with Ella walking in her kindy lantern parade, rides, dancing and fireworks to top it all off.
Such a wonderful time of year.
Have a fab Easter break loves! Chocolate for everyone!
