Best Brisbane Photography Locations
This post could also be titled “beautiful spots for any human to check out” or “great places to take your kids” – whether you’re a photographer or a single gal with an iPhone camera who likes pretty things or a tired mum who wants to take her kids somewhere new after school. Here are 9 of my favourite photography locations in Brisbane.
Nudgee Beach
Park at the Tuckeroo park carpark and head past the dog park along the beach. You’ll come to mangroves – cross them – and set up camp in front of the long grass, yellow wildflowers, soft sand & setting sun.
Old Petrie Town
Off Dayboro Rd, Old Petrie Town is full of old world charm — giant fig trees, sweet old chapels, charming sheds, old fire stations, and still-kept train tracks and a train station. It’s a photographer’s dream and a fun place to explore regardless.
Shorncliffe & Surrounds
Rugged cliffs, old jetties, beach and wildflowers, great big fig trees, a new pier – Shorncliffe has so many great spots to photograph that I’ve lost count of how many sessions I’ve done there.
Pine Forest
Take the Donnybrook exit off the Bruce Highway and head towards the Strawberry farm. There are gorgeous yellow wildflowers in the right season as well.
The Powerhouse
You can’t take a bad photo in front of that gorgeous brick wall. I’ve done stacks of shoots there for those wanting a great urban, eclectic look.
Strawberry Picking
The strawberry fields at Rolin farms off the Bruce Highway is such a fun place to photograph. I take my kids there every strawberry season and we always have the best time. Definitely a great, unique location for a future family session!
Samford, Dayboro & Surrounds
Open fields, long grass, winding country roads. Around Samford is a great place to explore.
Boondall Wetlands
Long grass, board walks, just the right light filtering through the dense bushland at sunset, this is another favourite place to explore and shoot in.
And lastly…Home. Possibly one of my favourite places to have a session, encouraging intimate, genuine moments and telling a story of your life right now.
Happy Friday!
