Christmas in July
We threw a Christmas in July party on Friday night – our first one ever – partly because nobody needs to tell me twice to string up twinkly lights on Christmas trees, but mostly because it would be a fun school holidays activity to share with my girl. Baking cookies, making paper snowflakes, doing crafty stuff — if there was an Ella heaven, this would be it. I knew it would make for a fun day together while Billy was at daycare.
(Can we talk about tiny person writing and misspelt words for a second? I cannot stand the cute. It’s unable to be stood.)
And so even though life with kids is so much more complicated than glitter pens and parties, I’ll take them, too. Because there’s no dress rehearsal. This is it. One little/big life. We make it as fabulous as we can.
Our first Christmas in July:
Happy winter, friends!
